IMC
INDEPENDENT MANAGEMENT COMPANY
A few years ago I took part in a photography challenge with a good friend of mine. We put the call out for a model on social media and we found Danielle Horvat — who turned out to be an incredible TV and stage actress. As a speculative project, I decided to redesign the website of the company that manages her.
I pitched the redesign to Theresa Huska at the Independent Management Company, and put a quote together for the website, partnered with Bradley Clenton at Showcast to bring the concept through into a fully functioning site.

Bradley Clenton was the developer at Showcast, so he was able to create a database that would feed into the IMC site, so all updates were done through the Showcast site — so there was no need to replicate the content.
I designed a News section for the site, which was going to populate other areas of the site with articles about the actors and presenters that IMC had on their books. It would have been used for press releases, casting announcements and film and television news.
Speculative projects are really important, firstly they are passion projects — if you see something that you love, but think it could be represented in a more professional or engaging way, then take the time to do it. Secondly, companies often have it in the back of their mind to update or enhance their digital presence — if you can show them something that they didn’t know how to articulate, it can be the catalyst to turn the idea into a real paying project.
